eLiberatica is an IT conference that will demonstrate the advantages of adopting, using and developing Open Source and Free Software solutions.
eLiberatica - Romanian IT Open Source and Free Software Conference
Lucian Savluc published an official list with the event guests:
- Rasmus Lerdorf (the father of PHP)
- Zak Greant (Mozilla)
- Monty Widenius (co-founder or MySQL and the one that wrote the originals MySQL code )
- Jim Willis (Director of eGovernment for the Secretary of State in Rhode Island)
- John Kurt von Finck (GNOME Foundation and Ubuntu)
- Yovko Lambrev and Bogomil Shopov
I am so proud of this event, because it will take place in Brasov , my beautiful home town. Looking forward to it.

Salut Mihai,
In mesajul care s-a pierdut iti multumeam ca ai postat despre acest eveniment.
Am luptat mult ca aceasta conferinta sa aibe loc in Brasov, nu neaparat pentru ca Brasovul este si orasul meu de suflet; Brasovul are foarte multe atuuri pentru a se prezenta cu prima conferinta de acest gen din tara in fata invitatilor din afara. Cat priveste cei din tara, nu vad un loc mai bun; se afla in centrul tarii, este un oras turistic, centru universitar, si mai ales, un pic mai “neutru” ca sa zic asa fata de Bucuresti.
Culmea este ca tocmai in Brasov se stie cel mai putin despre acest eveniment. Si e pacat..
Sper ca si altii sa afle. In prezent majoritatea hiturilor pe eLiberatica.ro vin din alte parti, majoritatea din Bucuresti.
Voi cei de acolo trebuie sa raspanditi vorba. Este un eveniment cu care Brasovul ar trebui sa se mandreasca. Prima conferinta internationala Open Source si Free Software care are loc in Romania.

Salut Lucian,
In Bv sunt cateva firme mari de IT. Sute de softisti. Sunt sigur ca se poate populariza evenimentul cu cateva emailuri interne.
Cat despre Politehnica BV, pot ajuta cu afise si word of mouth. De altfel sunt cateva publicatii si situri locale care cred ca ar scrie despre asta.
